We have a full-time position available for a reliable, energetic teacher who loves children and is genuinely interested in teaching.
A degree in Early Childhood Education or a
related degree and experience teaching in an international preschool setting
are highly desirable, but enthusiasm and a love for children are paramount.
You are an animated, curious individual with an innate ability to connect
with kids and have trained yourself to be an organized, effective teacher.
You will be teaching the same young children every day, so organizational
skills and creativity are essential
We provide: an enjoyable, team-oriented environment; small class sizes;
ample on-the-job training, feedback, guidance and support; opportunities
for advancement; bi-cultural management; countless chances to laugh.
The teaching part of the day amounts to between three and four hours (approximately
three lesson blocks), but lunch, park and free-play times are also spent
with children. Sufficient preparation time is given, but there are few
chances to relax during the day.
The successful candidate MUST be:
- a team player, who is enjoyable to be around.
- comfortable and effective in a team-teaching partnership.
- able to run a class of 15-18 young children (most with reasonably high
English comprehension/production.)
- able to plan classes based on curriculum (all material are supplied,
but not dictated.)
- acutely aware of environmental dangers and risks to children; i.e. at
park, during free play, meal time, etc…
- happy to be around young learners and excited about helping them learn
and grow.
Working Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 - 15:00. Saturdays, Sundays
and (most) national holidays are off. Several paid company holidays are
also included.
Compensation: * Full pay all twelve months of the year.
* Transportation allowance.
* 33+ paid holidays per year (increasing annually).
* 23 non-regular work days (field trips, Pro-D, etc.)
* Paid sick leave after six months (as per Japanese law.)
* Potential for visa sponsorship/renewal.
We are fun to work with. We love what we do. We look forward to hearing from you.
